A tender and flavorful pulled pork dish that’s easy to prepare in a slow cooker, perfect for any occasion.

- 3lb – 4lb pork shoulder butt
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tsp kosher salt
- 1 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp ground mustard
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 3/4 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp liquid smoke
Instructions
- Cut the meat into 4-6 equal-sized pieces. Trim fat as desired.
- Mix salt, pepper, brown sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, ground mustard, and cayenne pepper in a bowl. Rub this mixture all over the meat.
- Combine chicken broth, cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and liquid smoke in the slow cooker. Whisk it together.
- Place the seasoned meat into the slow cooker.
- Slow cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours.
- Remove the meat to a bowl and shred it with two forks. Serve with the juices from the slow cooker or your favorite BBQ sauce.
Notes
For a classic meal, serve on a bun with coleslaw. Storing leftovers in an airtight container keeps them fresh for up to 4 days.
