Description

A delightful dessert that combines the sweetness of fresh blueberries with a flaky crust, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, combine blueberries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, salt, and cinnamon. Cook over medium heat until the mixture begins to bubble, stirring occasionally.
  3. Pour the blueberry mixture into a pie crust placed in the skillet.
  4. Dot with butter and cover with another layer of crust, cutting slits for steam to escape.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  6. Let cool before serving.

Notes

Pairs well with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
