- 1 box (15 oz) chocolate fudge cake mix
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup whipped topping
- 1/2 cup milk (for the mousse)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven according to the cake mix instructions. Prepare the chocolate fudge cake mix as directed, using 1/2 cup of whole milk.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish and bake as instructed. Let it cool.
- Beat together the cream cheese and peanut butter until smooth.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar and mix until well combined.
- Fold in the whipped topping until fully incorporated.
- Crumble the cooled cake into pieces and layer half in serving bowls.
- Spoon half of the peanut butter mousse over the cake crumbles. Repeat the layers with the remaining cake and mousse.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 120 minutes before serving.
Notes
You can garnish with additional whipped topping or chocolate shavings. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
