Description

A delightful treat combining the sweetness of donuts and the heartiness of bread, perfect for breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, mix the melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before drizzling with a glaze made from powdered sugar and milk.
