Description

This chipotle garlic sauce with sour cream is a creamy, smoky condiment made with chipotle peppers in adobo, roasted garlic, lime, and paprika.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 12 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 2 cloves roasted garlic (or use raw for extra kick)
  • 1 tbsp adobo sauce (from chipotle can)
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Wrap garlic cloves in foil with a little oil and roast at 400°F (200°C) for about 20 minutes, until soft and golden.
  2. In a blender or food processor, combine sour cream, chipotle peppers, adobo sauce, roasted garlic, lime juice, smoked paprika, and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth.
  3. Add more salt, lime juice, or chipotle to reach your preferred flavor and heat level.
  4. Transfer to a jar or bowl and chill 15–30 minutes for best flavor. Serve cold.

Notes

  • This sauce is great for tacos, fries, burgers, and veggie dipping.
  • You can adjust the heat level by changing the number of chipotle peppers.
