- 1/2 cup unsalted brown butter
- 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp packed brown sugar
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 large egg (room temperature)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- store-bought caramel sauce (optional for dipping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brown the butter and let it cool completely before mixing.
- In a bowl, combine cooled brown butter, brown sugar, and sugar until smooth.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Scoop dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10 minutes; cookies will look slightly underbaked.
- Allow cookies to cool completely on the baking sheet to set.
- Serve with caramel sauce for dipping if desired.
