Description

Easy Three Cheese Sausage Balls with Maple Dijon Dip

Ingredients

Scale
  • ¼ cup (2 ounces) Dijon Mustard
  • 2 Tablespoons (1 ounce) mayonnaise
  • 2 Tablespoons (1 ounce) Maple syrup
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 cup (5 ounces) Bisquick or other baking mix
  • ½ pound (8 ounces) uncooked Jimmy Dean Hot sausage
  • 1 cup (4 ounces) extra sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup (2 ounces) smoked cheddar cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup (2 ounces) Gruyère cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. Maple Dijon Dipping Sauce
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, maple syrup, and smoked paprika. Set aside.
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a half-sheet baking sheet with nonstick aluminum foil. Set aside.
  4. Add Bisquick and sausage to the bowl of a food processor, fitted with a steel blade. Process for 10 to 15 seconds, or until mixture is well combined.
  5. Add the shredded cheddar, smoked cheddar, and Gruyére cheese to the food processor, and process another 15 seconds or until the cheese is well incorporated into the sausage/Bisquick mixture.
  6. Using a 2-teaspoon ice cream scoop, portion dough into balls about the size of a quarter (around 11 grams each) and roll into smooth balls. Place on prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake at 350°F for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven and drain on paper towels.
  8. Serve warm or at room temperature. Yield: 4 dozen.
