Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup candy corn (for topping)
- ½ cup edible eyes (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in cocoa powder until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, sift together flour and salt; gently fold into the chocolate mixture until just mixed.
- Fold in chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Pour batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean.
- Let cool slightly. While still warm, top with candy corn and edible eyes before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Always use room temperature eggs for a smoother batter.
- Avoid overmixing the batter once wet and dry ingredients are combined to keep brownies fudgy.
- Let brownies cool completely before cutting for best results.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five days.
- Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds for gooeyness.
