Description

These festive Monster Brownies are a fun and fudgy Halloween treat, decorated with candy corn and edible eyes. They are perfect for parties and easy to customize.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup candy corn (for topping)
  • ½ cup edible eyes (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in cocoa powder until fully combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, sift together flour and salt; gently fold into the chocolate mixture until just mixed.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean.
  9. Let cool slightly. While still warm, top with candy corn and edible eyes before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • Always use room temperature eggs for a smoother batter.
  • Avoid overmixing the batter once wet and dry ingredients are combined to keep brownies fudgy.
  • Let brownies cool completely before cutting for best results.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five days.
  • Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds for gooeyness.
