Description
Savory Slow Cooker Lipton Onion Potatoes are an easy, no-fuss side dish. Tender, buttery potatoes are infused with rich onion flavor from a packet of Lipton Onion Soup Mix. This crockpot recipe is perfect for busy weeknights or holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds Yukon Gold or red potatoes, washed and quartered
- 1 packet Lipton Onion Soup Mix (dry)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
- Non-stick spray or butter for greasing the crockpot
Instructions
- Lightly grease the crockpot with non-stick spray or butter.
- Wash and quarter the potatoes. Cut into bite-sized chunks if larger for even cooking.
- Place potatoes in the slow cooker. Sprinkle onion soup mix evenly over the top.
- Scatter the butter slices throughout. Drizzle with olive oil if using, and add black pepper.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 4-5 hours, or until potatoes are fork-tender.
- Gently stir to coat potatoes in the sauce. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- Use waxy potatoes like Yukon Gold or red for the best texture.
- Add sliced onions, garlic, or bell peppers for extra flavor.
- Make it vegan by using plant-based butter and onion soup mix.
- For a cheesy variation, stir in shredded cheddar during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
- Leftovers reheat well and can be crisped in an air fryer or skillet.
