Description

Savory Slow Cooker Lipton Onion Potatoes are an easy, no-fuss side dish. Tender, buttery potatoes are infused with rich onion flavor from a packet of Lipton Onion Soup Mix. This crockpot recipe is perfect for busy weeknights or holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds Yukon Gold or red potatoes, washed and quartered
  • 1 packet Lipton Onion Soup Mix (dry)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
  • Non-stick spray or butter for greasing the crockpot

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease the crockpot with non-stick spray or butter.
  2. Wash and quarter the potatoes. Cut into bite-sized chunks if larger for even cooking.
  3. Place potatoes in the slow cooker. Sprinkle onion soup mix evenly over the top.
  4. Scatter the butter slices throughout. Drizzle with olive oil if using, and add black pepper.
  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 4-5 hours, or until potatoes are fork-tender.
  6. Gently stir to coat potatoes in the sauce. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use waxy potatoes like Yukon Gold or red for the best texture.
  • Add sliced onions, garlic, or bell peppers for extra flavor.
  • Make it vegan by using plant-based butter and onion soup mix.
  • For a cheesy variation, stir in shredded cheddar during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  • Leftovers reheat well and can be crisped in an air fryer or skillet.
