Description
Savory Honey Glazed Pork Belly offers an exquisite blend of sticky sweetness and tender texture, making it a crowd-pleaser for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 kg Pork Belly (cut into bite-sized pieces)
- 6 tbsp Honey (adjust based on personal taste)
- 4 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 2 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce (optional)
- 3 tbsp Brown Sugar
- 2 tbsp Rice Vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1 inch Fresh Ginger (grated)
- 2 tbsp Sesame Oil
- 100 ml Water
- 2 tbsp Green Onions (chopped)
- 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds
Instructions
- Start by cutting the pork belly into bite-sized pieces and pat them dry with a paper towel.
- Heat a tablespoon of sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork belly and sear until golden brown and crisp, about 10–12 minutes.
- Once the pork is seared to perfection, carefully drain excess fat from the skillet, leaving just a little for flavor.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauces, brown sugar, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and water.
- Pour the glaze over the seared pork belly. Reduce the heat to medium-low, and let it simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens.
- Continue cooking until the glaze is beautifully sticky and glossy, coating each piece of pork. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving!
