Ingredients

  • 1 kg Pork Belly (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 6 tbsp Honey (adjust based on personal taste)
  • 4 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce (optional)
  • 3 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Rice Vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 inch Fresh Ginger (grated)
  • 2 tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 100 ml Water
  • 2 tbsp Green Onions (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds

Instructions

  1. Start by cutting the pork belly into bite-sized pieces and pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. Heat a tablespoon of sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork belly and sear until golden brown and crisp, about 10–12 minutes.
  3. Once the pork is seared to perfection, carefully drain excess fat from the skillet, leaving just a little for flavor.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauces, brown sugar, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and water.
  5. Pour the glaze over the seared pork belly. Reduce the heat to medium-low, and let it simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens.
  6. Continue cooking until the glaze is beautifully sticky and glossy, coating each piece of pork. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving!
