Description
Orleans Bread Pudding with Bourbon Sauce: An Amazing Ultimate Recipe
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 cups day-old French bread, cubed
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup raisins or other dried fruits (optional)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
- Place the cubed French bread in a large mixing bowl. If you’re using dried fruits, sprinkle them over the bread cubes.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes, ensuring all pieces are soaked. Gently fold to combine, allowing the bread to absorb the liquid.
- Drizzle the melted butter over the mixture, folding gently to incorporate.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Place in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and allow it to cool for about 15 minutes before serving.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, butter, and heavy cream. Stir until the mixture is smooth and begins to bubble.
- Remove from heat and stir in the bourbon and vanilla extract. Allow it to cool slightly before serving.
