Description

Orange Teriyaki Salmon is an incredible dish that combines sweet and savory flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 ounces each)
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for a thicker glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon water (optional, for cornstarch slurry)
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Green onions, sliced, for garnish
  • Orange slices, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, orange juice, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, and minced garlic.
  2. Marinate the Salmon: Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or resealable bag and pour the marinade over them. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Bake the Salmon: Remove the salmon from the marinade and place it on a lined baking sheet. Reserve the marinade for later use.
  5. Bake: Cook the salmon in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until it flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Prepare the Glaze: While the salmon is baking, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan. Bring it to a simmer over medium heat.
  7. Thicken the Glaze (Optional): If desired, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Stir it into the simmering marinade to thicken the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until glossy.
  8. Glaze the Salmon: Once the salmon is done baking, brush it with the thickened glaze and return to the oven for another 2-3 minutes.
  9. Garnish: Remove the salmon from the oven and garnish with sesame seeds, sliced green onions, and fresh orange slices.
  10. Serve: Transfer the salmon to a serving platter and drizzle with any remaining glaze.
