Ingredients
Scale
- 4 salmon fillets (6 ounces each)
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for a thicker glaze)
- 1 tablespoon water (optional, for cornstarch slurry)
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
- Green onions, sliced, for garnish
- Orange slices, for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, orange juice, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, and minced garlic.
- Marinate the Salmon: Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or resealable bag and pour the marinade over them. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Bake the Salmon: Remove the salmon from the marinade and place it on a lined baking sheet. Reserve the marinade for later use.
- Bake: Cook the salmon in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until it flakes easily with a fork.
- Prepare the Glaze: While the salmon is baking, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan. Bring it to a simmer over medium heat.
- Thicken the Glaze (Optional): If desired, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Stir it into the simmering marinade to thicken the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until glossy.
- Glaze the Salmon: Once the salmon is done baking, brush it with the thickened glaze and return to the oven for another 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish: Remove the salmon from the oven and garnish with sesame seeds, sliced green onions, and fresh orange slices.
- Serve: Transfer the salmon to a serving platter and drizzle with any remaining glaze.
