Description

One-Skillet Cajun Honey Garlic Sausage & Rice is an incredible dish that combines flavorful sausage with rice and vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Cajun sausage (sliced)
  • 1 cup long-grain rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 medium onion (diced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 bell pepper (diced)
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced Cajun sausage to the skillet and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the sausage and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Stir in the long-grain rice, mixing well to coat with the oil and vegetables.
  5. Add the chicken broth, Cajun seasoning, honey, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  6. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for about 15 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and liquid is absorbed.
  7. Return the cooked sausage to the skillet and stir well. Allow it to heat through for another 2-3 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
