Description

Mouthwatering Million Dollar Lasagna: Family Comfort Redefined

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Ground Beef (Use lean ground beef to reduce grease.)
  • 2 cups Marinara Sauce (Homemade tomato sauce can be used for a fresher taste.)
  • 1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning (Fresh herbs (basil, oregano) can be used for added freshness.)
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 15 ounces Ricotta Cheese (Cottage cheese can replace ricotta, though the texture will differ.)
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese (Freshly grated yields better flavor than pre-grated.)
  • 12 ounces Lasagna Noodles (No-boil noodles can also be a convenient alternative.)
  • 3 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese (Melts beautifully and enhances overall creaminess.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain any excess fat, then stir in the marinara sauce. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
  3. Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, the egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  5. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, start layering with meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, shredded mozzarella, and more meat sauce. Repeat and finish with remaining noodles and meat sauce, topped with grated Parmesan.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Allow to rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
