Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • ¾ ounce simple syrup
  • Ice
  • Granulated sugar (for the rim)
  • Lemon wedge or lemon twist (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Chill a martini glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes.
  2. Pour a small amount of granulated sugar onto a shallow plate.
  3. Run a lemon wedge around the rim of the chilled glass.
  4. Dip the rim into the sugar until evenly coated.
  5. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
  6. Add 2 ounces vodka to the shaker.
  7. Add 1 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice to the shaker.
  8. Add ¾ ounce simple syrup to the shaker.
  9. Secure the lid on the shaker tightly.
  10. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds until well chilled.
  11. Strain the cocktail into the prepared martini glass.
