A fast and flavorful recipe for tender, sticky, air-fried chicken, inspired by pan-Asian sticky dishes.
Ingredients

- 1–1.5 lbs chicken thighs or breasts
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp ginger powder
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- Red pepper flakes, to taste
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
- Chopped green onions, for garnish
Instructions
- Pat chicken dry and marinate with soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, ginger powder, and black pepper for 10-15 minutes.
- Whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, cornstarch slurry, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes to make the sauce.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Air fry chicken in a single layer for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Toss hot chicken with the sauce until evenly coated.
- Optional: Return the chicken to the air fryer for an additional 2-3 minutes to caramelize the glaze.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, feel free to incorporate gochujang for spice or toasted sesame oil for aroma.
