Ingredients

Scale
  • 11.5 lbs chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp ginger powder
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • Red pepper flakes, to taste
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat chicken dry and marinate with soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, ginger powder, and black pepper for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, cornstarch slurry, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes to make the sauce.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Air fry chicken in a single layer for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  5. Toss hot chicken with the sauce until evenly coated.
  6. Optional: Return the chicken to the air fryer for an additional 2-3 minutes to caramelize the glaze.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, feel free to incorporate gochujang for spice or toasted sesame oil for aroma.
