Ingredients

- 6 cups peeled and chopped apples
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1–2 tsp cornstarch
- 1 cup brown sugar (for topping)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (for topping)
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 6 tbsp melted butter
- Optional: 1/2 cup rolled oats or chopped nuts
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C) and arrange eight 6-ounce ramekins on a baking sheet.
- Toss apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch until coated.
- Spoon apple mixture into ramekins, filling them about 3/4 full.
- In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt. Drizzle in melted butter to form crumbs.
- Scatter the crumble topping over the apples and bake for 32–36 minutes until golden.
- Let cool for 5–10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a lighter version, swap half of the butter for coconut oil. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3–4 days.
