Description

This goat cheese grilled cheese with honey is a sweet-and-savory gourmet twist on the classic sandwich—tangy, creamy goat cheese melted between crispy buttery bread, finished with a drizzle of golden honey.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices thick sourdough or French bread
  • 6 oz goat cheese (soft, fresh variety)
  • 23 tsp honey, plus extra for drizzling
  • 2 tsp butter, softened
  • Pinch of black pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Spread butter evenly on one side of each bread slice (these will be the outside).
  2. On the unbuttered side of two slices, spread a generous layer of goat cheese.
  3. Drizzle 1 to 1.5 teaspoons of honey over the goat cheese on each slice. Sprinkle with black pepper if using.
  4. Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side out, to form two sandwiches.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium-low heat. Cook until the bottom is golden brown, about 3–4 minutes.
  6. Flip carefully and cook until the other side is golden and the goat cheese is warm and slightly melty, about 2–3 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and let sit for 1–2 minutes.
  8. Slice, drizzle with extra honey if desired, and serve warm.
