- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 2 ¼ teaspoon active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 4 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoon cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoon milk (for icing)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, granulated sugar, and yeast. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add melted butter, egg, and salt. Mix in flour gradually until a soft dough forms. Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- On a floured surface, roll dough into a large rectangle. Spread softened butter over the dough. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Cut dough into long strips and coil them into a giant spiral in a greased round cake pan. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40–45 minutes until golden. Let cool slightly. Mix powdered sugar, cream cheese, milk, and vanilla for the icing, and drizzle over the warm cake.
