Description

This Creamy Jalapeño Chicken Skillet is a quick, one-pan dinner packed with flavor. Juicy chicken is seared and simmered in a luscious jalapeño cream sauce that’s perfectly balanced — creamy, mildly spicy, and full of comfort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs), about 1.5 lbs (680g)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 23 jalapeños, finely sliced (fresh or pickled)
  • ¾ cup chicken broth (or water + bouillon)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup cream cheese, softened
  • ½ teaspoon cumin (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh cilantro or parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat chicken dry and season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 5–7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and add garlic and jalapeños. Sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and scrape up browned bits. Let simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  5. Lower heat, add heavy cream and cream cheese, and whisk until smooth. Season with cumin, salt, and pepper.
  6. Return chicken to skillet and simmer 3–5 minutes, coating it in the creamy sauce.
  7. Garnish with cilantro or parsley and serve hot with rice, pasta, or veggies.
