- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs), about 1.5 lbs (680g)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2–3 jalapeños, finely sliced (fresh or pickled)
- ¾ cup chicken broth (or water + bouillon)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup cream cheese, softened
- ½ teaspoon cumin (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh cilantro or parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Pat chicken dry and season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 5–7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and add garlic and jalapeños. Sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour in chicken broth and scrape up browned bits. Let simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Lower heat, add heavy cream and cream cheese, and whisk until smooth. Season with cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Return chicken to skillet and simmer 3–5 minutes, coating it in the creamy sauce.
- Garnish with cilantro or parsley and serve hot with rice, pasta, or veggies.
