Description

Creamy Bread Pudding Casserole is a rich and comforting dessert made with stale bread, eggs, and a creamy custard.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups of stale bread, cubed (preferably French or brioche)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup raisins or other dried fruits (optional)
  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
  • Caramel sauce, for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Place the cubed stale bread in a large mixing bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  4. Pour the custard mixture over the cubed bread. Gently stir to ensure all the bread is soaked.
  5. If you’re using raisins or other dried fruits, fold them into the bread mixture.
  6. Pour the bread mixture into the prepared baking dish. Drizzle the melted butter over the top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the custard is set and the top is golden brown.
  8. Once done, remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
  9. If desired, dust the top with powdered sugar for an extra touch of sweetness.
  10. Serve with a drizzle of caramel sauce for added flavor.
