Description
Creamy Blueberry Layered Bread Pudding: An Amazing Ultimate Recipe
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 cups of day-old bread, cubed (French or brioche works best)
- 2 cups fresh blueberries (or frozen, thawed)
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for greasing the baking dish)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions
- Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with unsalted butter.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cubed bread and fresh blueberries. Gently toss them together to distribute the blueberries evenly.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt. Mix until well combined.
- Pour the custard mixture over the bread and blueberry mixture. Allow it to soak for about 15 minutes, ensuring that all the bread absorbs the liquid.
- Gently spoon the mixture into the greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving.
- If desired, dust the top with powdered sugar for an elegant finish.
