Description
Cinnamon Raisin Bread Pudding is a delightful dessert made with cubed bread, raisins, and a creamy custard.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 cups day-old bread, cubed (preferably brioche or challah)
- 1 cup raisins
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
- Ice cream or whipped cream for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
- Place the cubed bread in a large bowl. If using fresh bread, let it sit out for a few hours to stale slightly.
- Sprinkle the raisins over the cubed bread, mixing gently to distribute them evenly.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the custard mixture over the bread and raisins. Gently fold the mixture until all the bread is soaked. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to absorb.
- Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Drizzle the melted butter over the top.
- Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
- Dust with powdered sugar, if desired, and serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream for an extra indulgence.
