Description
Christmas Glazed Eggnog Bread is the ultimate festive treat—moist, warmly spiced, and drizzled with a sweet eggnog glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (240g)
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (113g)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar (150g)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup eggnog (240ml)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar (120g)
- 2–3 tablespoons eggnog (30–45ml)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and eggnog to the butter mixture, starting and ending with dry. Mix until just combined—don’t overmix.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 50–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. If top browns too quickly, cover with foil for the last 15 minutes.
- Cool in pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Once fully cooled, whisk glaze ingredients and drizzle over the top. Let set before slicing.
