Description

Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding with Cream Sauce is a delightful dessert that combines rich flavors and textures.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups of stale bread, cubed
  • 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt
  • Butter, for greasing the baking dish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cubed stale bread and chocolate chips. Toss gently to distribute the chocolate evenly.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until fully combined.
  4. Pour the custard mixture over the bread and chocolate chips. Gently stir to ensure the bread is fully soaked.
  5. Allow the mixture to sit for about 10-15 minutes, letting the bread absorb the custard.
  6. Pour the soaked bread mixture into the greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-50 minutes, or until the pudding is set in the center and lightly golden on top.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving.
  9. In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of heavy cream and 1 tablespoon of sugar over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the cream is warmed through. Drizzle over the pudding before serving.
