Description
Easy Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce: An Incredible 7-Step Recipe
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 cups stale bread, cubed (preferably French or brioche)
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup raisins or chocolate chips (optional)
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a large bowl, combine the cubed stale bread with melted butter. Toss it gently to coat the bread evenly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes. If you’re adding raisins or chocolate chips, fold them in gently at this stage.
- Allow the mixture to sit for about 15 minutes, giving the bread time to absorb the custard.
- Pour the bread mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove the pudding from the oven and let it cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For Vanilla Sauce, combine heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cornstarch, and butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Cook while stirring continuously until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before serving.
